In 2014, the Discovery Center of Idaho—Idaho’s only hands-on science center—entered an era of new leadership, revised their strategic vision, and embarked on a major facility remodel. Knowing they needed an updated brand that would generate excitement around these changes and increase awareness for new in-house exhibitions, they approached Stoltz to help.


To start, we delivered a true rebrand, from logo to signage to photo library and everything in between. We also redesigned their website to focus on the key audience, moms with kids ages 5-15. We consulted on advertising strategy, crafted marketing templates, created videos, designed point-of-sale displays, planned social media, generated local press…and did a little “experimenting” of our own with non-traditional tactics. Essentially, we did what was needed to highlight the Discovery Center’s role in STEM education and the community and give them a sustainable marketing system that can be used for years to come. Although we’d like to take most of the credit, we contribute success to the client for being brave enough to try new things and embrace the science of marketing.
