If you have a blog, you likely know the pain of developing content that isn’t performing. Even if you’ve checked all the boxes by creating that content mindfully, there are times when Google simply isn’t sending traffic your way. The question is, why?

The answer is tricky if not impossible to answer at times. However, Google has a tool that will help solve the riddle – Google Search Console.  In this article, Matt Press walks readers through a step by step process to better understanding why Google likes or doesn’t like your content.

Branding Article of the week from AdWeek:

Here’s What You Need to Know About Voice AI, the Next Frontier of Brand Marketing

If you’re anything like me, you were skeptical and felt a little silly the first time you uttered the words “Hey Siri.” Sure, we’re all used to talking INTO our phones, but all of a sudden, we were being asked to talk TO our phones. To calm the awkward feelings, we started asking Siri silly questions, like, “what’s your favorite color”- go ahead, try it out.

Now, a few years later, talking to our phones feels normal. Just last night I asked my phone to tell me a joke – “OK Google – tell me a joke” – and I must say, it made me chuckle. Along with that comfort level has come products like the Amazon Alexa, smart TVs, refrigerators and more. We’re now OK with talking to our appliances and brands can’t help but take notice.

In this article, Adweek’s Christopher Heine explores our build up to the 67 million voice-assisted devices in America and how it may be the next evolution in branding. As he points out, “Your Chevy or Ford might be your vehicle for finding a YouTube video, like the classic SNL skit of Chevy Chase’s send-up of President Gerald Ford, to make a long drive less tedious.”

Regardless of the product or services you are selling, it is trends like this that keep us on our toes and keep us exploring how technology will impact the business we run this year, next year and beyond. Imagine the possibilities!
