Having dealt with friends and family affected by breast cancer, SMG art director Crissie McDowell, Jen Henriksen, Melanie Adams and Katie Shamberg decided to fight it with a little creativity. They created a line of t-shirts emblazoned with their theme “Save the Boobs", with 100% of funds raised directly donated to local affiliates of The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The money is used to provide research grants and uninsured women in our area with mammograms, an essential tool in early detection.
So far, they’ve raised over $30,000 for the cause through t-shirt sales and BreastFest events. See the recent Idaho Statesman article here.
