Do Traditional Advertising Campaigns Still Work?
In July, SMG helped Blue Cross of Idaho plan and execute an integrated campaign to get BSU and ISU students to switch from the Student Health Insurance Plan (S.H.I.P.). The “Waive S.H.I.P.” campaign included a mobile billboard that circled campus, radio, newspaper, online advertising, as well as street teams on campus who handed out 1,000 blue foam hands. See the full campaign here. In a matter of weeks, 685 students applied online. Blue Cross of Idaho reports that the campaign also boosted sales of their other products. According to the company, it was their most successful summer for new applications ever. The lesson? Highly targeted campaigns with a specific offer deliver great results.

Newspaper campaign for United Way of Treasure Valley recognized at national advertising competition.

Stoltz Marketing Group (SMG) received national recognition at the American Advertising Federation’s ADDY® Awards Show on Saturday, June 4th in San Diego, California.

SMG’s newspaper campaign for United Way of Treasure Valley was recognized with a Silver ADDY at the show. SMG was one of only two firms from Idaho who received awards at the national competition.

This is the second consecutive year—and fourth time in eight years—that SMG has been recognized at the national level. In 2010 the agency received an ADDY for their packaging designs for Lucky Bums Outdoor Clothing For Kids.

The newspaper campaign highlighted United Way of Treasure Valley’s preventive approach to community issues and helped increase their fundraising campaign by 10% over the previous year.

With more than 60,000 entries annually, the ADDY Awards is the world's largest and arguably toughest advertising competition. The ADDY Awards represent the spirit of creative excellence by recognizing all forms of advertising from media of all types, creative by all sizes and entrants of all levels from anywhere in the world.
